National Headliner Awards
Deadline: January 11, 2008

Headliner competition is open to all material appearing in a paid-circulation
publication or broadcast in the United States between January 1 and December
31, 2007. There is no limit on the number of entries that may be submitted.
Registration fee of $75 per entry.

Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award

The RFK award is for outstanding coverage of the problems of the disadvantaged,
both domestic & international subject matter, for work published in 2007.
$50 entry fee required for each professional entry, limit maximum of 15 cartoons.

The Thomas Nast Award

The award from the Society of Professional Journalists recognizes an editorial
cartoonist published in a newspaper, magazine, newsletter or on-line news
site during 2007. $60 fee per entry for SPJ members or $100 fee for nonmembers.

The Charles M. Schulz Award

Student must be currently enrolled in same college for the 2007-2008 school
year to be considered. Submit 10 to 20 copies of examples. (No originals!)
Cartoons may be panels, strips and/or editorial cartoons/illustrations. No
entry fee. Entry must include a written statement (250 words or less) by
the cartoonist outlining his or her goals in cartooning.

The John Locher Memorial Award

The Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be college students in the United States, Canada or Mexico
that will be attending college during the 2008-2009 academic year. Applicants
are required to send 5 samples of their own cartooning artwork, noting if and
