The AAEC and Association of Canadian Cartoonists will be teaming up with the Université du Québec à Montréal for a 3-day celebration political cartoonists, October 3-6, 2024.

National Newspaper Awards (Canada)
Deadline:
January 11, 2010

Open to cartoons appearing in daily Canadian newspapers (or their online editions) in 2009. Five cartoons must be submitted. Entry fee: $40 for large market newspapers; $25 for small market papers.
Submit entries online only. Proof of publication as a PDF or JPG, and JPGs of the cartoons must be uploaded.

National Headliner Awards

The deadline has been extended to TUESDAY JANUARY 19, due to the MLK, Jr Holiday on Monday, and the fact the post office is closed.

Headliner competition is open to all material appearing in a paid-circulation publication or broadcast in the United States in 2009. There is no limit on the number of entries that may be submitted. Registration fee of $75 per entry.

The Thomas Nast Award

Scripps Howard Foundation National Journalism Awards

Fischetti Competition

The competition is open to cartoons on current social and political subjects that have been published in 2009 in a daily or weekly newspaper or regularly published periodical (including Internet publications) in the United States. $50 entry fee required for each professional entry, limit maximum of 3 cartoons. The Herblock Prize

Submit no more than 20 or fewer than 10 cartoons. No entry fee. UPDATE FOR 2010: BEGINNING THIS YEAR, ANIMATED EDITORIAL CARTOONS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE HERBLOCK PRIZE. ENTRANTS MUST SUBMIT THEIR ENTRIES ON A DVD.

The Pulitzer Prize

Mark of Excellence Awards
