Born in Chicago the last year of WWII. Family moved to LA before I was old enough to protest. Left LA as soon as I was able. 3-year stint in the Army - mostly in Germany. Attended UCLA before and after the Army. Graduated UC Berkeley shortly after the tear gas cleared in 1970. Started work in retail advertising production in Oakland. Hired as a Federal Sky Marshal at the crack of '71 and drew cartoons as a "cover" while flying shotgun on Pan Am for a little more than a year. Left the govt. to work for Hallmark Cards in '72. Went to Centron Educational Films in '74 and returned to the Bay Area in '75. Muddled around doing slide art for training and promotion for a couple of years until I got a job doing storyboards for a San Francisco ad agency. Stayed in the agencys until 1985 when I married Colleen and set out to work for myself...a job I've kept ever since...mostly because I can't bring myself to fire myself.
