Chris Sharron selected as 2010 Locher Award winner

Chris Sharron, a senior at Kent State University, is this the winner of this year's Locher Award

Mary Locher wrote, "If you'll remember, Chris came in second in both 2009 and 2008. He attended the AAEC convention in San Antonio in 2008. Chris also won the Charles Schultz  Award [as well] so he's having a big year, isn't he?"

Bill Richards, a student at the University of Georgia, came in second. Mary Locher noted "It's interesting, he came in third in 2008."

The contest, named in memory of John Locher, is open to student cartoonists, age 17-25, from the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Sharron will receive an all-expense paid trip to the annual convention of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, this year to be held in Portland, OR.
