The AAEC and Association of Canadian Cartoonists will be joining with the Cartoon Art Museum in San Franscisco for a 3-day celebration of editorial art and political cartoonists, October 5-8, 2023.

TRANSPORTATION TO HOFSTRA AND THE 2017 AAEC CONVENTION

Hello all! The time of the gathering is here!

Below is some suggestion on traveling to Hofstra University, in Hempstead, NY, once you get to New York

FLYING INTO JFK?
Once you've deplaned, take the AIRTRAIN —- a handy rail link taking you from your terminal to Jamaica Station, a major hub where one can transfer to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) to Mineola and Hempstead stations.

FLYING INTO LAGUARDIA?
You will have to a take a Lyft, Uber or taxi to handy rail link taking you from your terminal to Jamaica Station, a major hub where one can transfer to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) for the ride to Mineola or Hempstead stations. FROM MINEOLA OR HEMPSTEAD STATIONS.
Look for the HOFSTRA buses. Attendees of the convention are allowed to use the University transit, so be sure to tell them you're with the cartoonist convention at Hofstra.

COMING FROM NEW YORK CITY?
The Long Island Rail Road provides regular commuter service from Pennsylvania Station in New York City to the Hempstead and Mineola stations. Pennsylvania Station is located at 34th Street and 8th Avenue, below Madison Square Garden.

DON'T WANT TO USE PUBLIC TRANSIT?

Columbia University
Going to the free panel tonight, Oct. 30? Columbia Law School, Jerome Greene Hall, Room 107, 435 W 116th Street, at Amsterdam Avenue, NY.
Parking may be available on the street. If not, closest lot is on the corner of 114th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. 114th runs one-way W-E so you have to enter it from Broadway or further west.
