Annual Convention October 5-8

The AAEC and Association of Canadian Cartoonists will be joining with the Cartoon Art Museum in San Franscisco for a 3-day celebration of editorial art and political cartoonists, October 5-8, 2023.

New Slate of AAEC Officers Announced

The results are in and counted, and the 2009-2010 Board of Directors of the AAEC 
is as follows:

President: Rex Babin
President-Elect: Steve Kelley
Vice President: Mikhaela Reid
Secretary-Treasurer: V. Cullum Rogers
Directors: Mark Fiore, Jeff Parker, Mike Thompson
Ted Rall will also serve on the 2009-2010 Board as Immediate Past President.

The new Board takes office today, September 18, 2009. Congratulations to the new
Board, and thanks to the old for all its hard work during the past year.

Members also voted overwhelmingly (62-4) in favor of the following amendment,
which from today is officially part of the AAEC Bylaws:

Article XIX: Ethical Guidelines
In order the maintain the integrity of the editorial cartooning profession,
members of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists agree to never
engage in plagiarism, the act of appropriating another creator's work as one's
own. If a member is accused of a clear and brazen act of plagiarism, the Board
may act to permanently or temporarily suspend his or her membership.
